Magpies Hoarding Support ***Please note that the Magpies service is currently closed to new referrals*** Sheffield Mind has partnered with the Sheffield Adult Safeguarding Partnership (SASPB) to provide essential support to adults in Sheffield experiencing self-neglect and/or hoarding and respond to identified local need and learning from Safeguarding Adult Reviews. We are delighted to have this commitment to sustaining the service rom April 2026 to March 2028, to ensure preventative safeguarding support. What the service provides: Specialist one‑to‑one support - addressing hoarding behaviours, aligned to Making Safeguarding Personal. Our staff support people to look at lifestyle, explore the reasons that might be behind their hoarding histories and look at ways of changing behaviour. Through one-to-one and group support, people can access practical advice and input to address their home conditions and other difficulties that often accompany hoarding behaviour, such as social isolation. . Group Support - a programme of support groups ( for service users and family/friends) - groups are in S2 / S5). Our groups provide a safe and supportive space in which to share experiences, gain wider awareness and get support from people with lived experience. Friends & family are welcome to attend the session, so they are able to broaden their awareness and increase their understanding of hoarding.
