About us Our mission Our Mission Our mission is to improve wellbeing and provide support and advice to anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We work locally with partners, to improve service provision and increase awareness. Sheffield Mind was founded in 1978, so we’ve got 45 years’ experience of providing mental health services to people in Sheffield. We’re a registered charity, and a company limited by guarantee. We’re affiliated to National Mind, but we don’t receive direct financial support from Mind. Although we’re an independent, autonomous organisation, Sheffield Mind is one of 100+ Local Mind Associations across England and Wales that have agreed to support the mission and values of National Mind and strive to reflect them in our governing documents, principals and work. Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem and they campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. You can contact Mind: Infoline - offers callers confidential help for the price of a local call. The infoline provides information and signposting and is open 10am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (except for bank holidays). Legal Line - provides information on mental health related law to the public, service users, family members/carers, mental health professionals and mental health advocates. Mind also offer a range of good quality, trustworthy information and advice on their website. Equality & Diversity Based in Sharrow but working citywide, we're part of a diverse local community. Wherever possible we identify opportunities to work with and learn from people from under-represented communities - in which there can be higher than average incidences of mental ill health - and to link with local groups. Committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in our work with service users, within the organisation (staff, volunteers and trustees) and in wider society, we're a creative and forward-thinking organisation who build new and exciting partnerships so we can promote greater awareness and understanding of mental health, to different sectors. We are always looking to develop new relationships and work in shared projects and initiatives. Manage Cookie Preferences
