It seems like an age ago now but back in December we hosted our Christmas Open Minds Social, and it was a seasonal success!   As always, we are so thankful for everyone's involvement in Open Minds and whether you hosted part of the session or just came down and joined us, everyone contributed to making the event feel extra festive.

We started off with some Christmas music, puzzles and colouring before getting stuck into the serious crafting! We were given some excellent guidance by our resident expert Janine, who gave us a brilliant tutorial in how to make mini wool bobble hats.Everyone had a lot of fun and went home some smashing home-made Christmas decorations!  We wrapped up the festivities with quiz – we love a quiz at Open Minds - brilliantly put together by Fariel.

Throughout the morning, we gathered feedback from the group about the success of Sheffield Mind services and were pleased to hear that accessing services has, ‘ helped me feel better in myself and get into volunteering" in addition, service users from our Magpies hoarding support service told us how  "The Magpies team have made a huge difference for me…. and helped me feel less isolated and given me some purpose and routine".

We also collected feedback on what you would like to see from us next year. This will be taken to the next Service User Rep meeting for consideration. Your input is always valued and helps us to develop and deliver support in the way that suits you best.

Our next Open Minds event will be around Easter, so keep an eye on the website and social media for more information.
