Why Walking is Good for You and for us

Walking is a low-impact exercise with countless physical and mental health benefits. It helps improve cardiovascular health, boosts energy levels, and enhances mood. A casual walk not only supports your physical wellness but also gives you a chance to de-stress and appreciate the beauty of nature.

We’re delighted to share that the Sheffield Hallam's, Casual Walking Society, are  organising a fundraising walk to support Sheffield Mind and the mental health support we provide across the city. Their generosity and community spirit highlight just how powerful walking can be — not only for wellbeing, but for bringing people together to make a positive difference. 

Walking with friends, family, or a community group can strengthen bonds and provide opportunities for meaningful conversation. Walking together fosters companionship, making it not only healthy but also a wonderful social activity.

All the money raised by the event will be invested in the work we do in the city and we are incredibly grateful to the organisers and to everyone who pops on their walking boots for a bit of a ramble!!
