Sheffield Mind CEO, Margaret and Director of Services, Edyta, were pleased to give the opening presentation at a GP Protected Learning event, attended by over 200 GPs and professionals from the Primary & Community Mental Health Transformation Programme, in November 2024.

Protected Learning Time events are sessions for GPs and allied Health Professionals, providing an opportunity for them to learn about new clinical developments, updates on national guidance and best practice, whilst also sharing their own experience and knowledge with their peers.

Happening 4 times a year, the events are fundamentally about improving patient care by providing a dedicated learning time for healthcare professionals away from their busy day-to-day primary care work.

The presentation centred on 'what the VCSE sector can offer GPs and other professionals' and Margaret and Edyta talked about the versatility of the voluntary sector and how we are grounded in the communities we work in.

The presentation ended with a short film which some of our staff had contributed to, talking about the services they deliver here at Sheffield Mind.
