Mental Health in the Workplace - training for line managers Mental Health in the workplace 1 in 4 people experience mental health problems, this will include colleagues, employees and people that you come into contact with every day in your workplace. No one is immune from mental health problems but conditions and severity of illness differ greatly. Having a mental health issue does not necessarily prevent a person from working and with the right support and treatment people do recover or learn to manage their conditions. This course is intended to improve awareness and general understanding of mental health, and help managers identify the indicators, of when someone may need support with their mental health and wellbeing It will also look at the reasonable and practical adjustments that can be made in the workplace to help people who might otherwise be struggling What are the course aims? The course emphasises the importance of looking after your and your employees' mental health. It’s designed to build your confidence in supporting others and identifying the small changes that can make a big difference to the way in which people work. Attendees will get a better understanding of mental health issues and how they affect workplace performance and also a better awareness of how best to address issues that may be causing concern.
