Gambling-related harm training for professionals

GAPS offer free gambling-related harm awareness to training to professionals working with people in Sheffield. The training will explore what gambling-related harm is and will provide individuals with knowledge to support their service users at risk of or already developing gambling-related harm. Delegates will also be given resources to assist them identifying and supporting individuals who may be at risk of or already developing gambling-related harm.

Awareness Sessions For Young People

At GAPS, our mission is to promote resilience against the development of gambling harms for young people aged 11-25. One way in which we do this is by raising awareness of gambling-related harm and empowering young people with the knowledge and tools to act as peer educators to other young people who may be at risk.

Online, gambling is transforming. These activities are not seen as traditional forms of gambling but have gambling like qualities which can make them harmful to young people.
A Closer Look: Online Gambling

Online, the gambling industry is growing rapidly and is available to most 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Casinos, Bookies and Bingo organisations have created platforms where you can play most of their games either on an app or on their website similar to the way you would in person. For some online gambling is a convenient way to put on the lottery, play a game of bingo or place a bet on their favourite football team. For others, online gambling can result in gambling-related harm.
