Hello, I'm Bridget.

I have worked in the charity sector for most of my career including 8 years as CEO of Sheffield Mind. I also worked in leadership positions at other charities in Sheffield including the Sheffield Women’s Counselling and Therapy Service and Community Action Halfway Home. My most recent employment was as Head of Network Quality at national Mind where I led the development and implementation of the quality assurance framework for the Mind Federation across England and Wales - the Mind Quality Mark.

In addition to paid work I have been a trustee of a number of local organisation including Voluntary Action Sheffield (VAS), Sage Greenfingers and Sheffield Association for the Voluntary Teaching of English (SAVTE).  I have also worked within the NHS managing primary care mental health services.

I retired in 2024 so was delighted to be accepted onto the Board of Sheffield Mind. In these increasingly challenging times, charities need strong leadership and governance with boards providing a supportive, equitable and nurturing environment for the staff and volunteers. This in turn enables them to make best use of resources available to provide effective life changing support for people experiencing mental health challenges in the local community.

In my spare time I enjoy cycling, walking, yoga and play the violin.
