This Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re encouraging people to take small actions early — because reaching out sooner can make all the difference later.

From local initiatives to regional partnerships, Sheffield Mind help create innovative, compassionate support that meets people where they are and Mental Health Awareness Week’s focus on ACTION, is a useful reminder that improving mental health outcomes requires action at every level - by individuals, organisations, and across systems.

Across South Yorkshire, local Mind organisations are seeing increasing demand linked to workforce pressures, inequalities, and barriers to accessing support. These challenges cut across organisational and geographical boundaries and require a more coordinated, system-level response.

Sheffield Mind, Doncaster Mind and Rotherham & Barnsley Mind are working together to develop a collaborative approach to supporting mental health across the region. This emerging collaboration brings together local expertise, community reach and lived experience to explore how we can better support workforce resilience, improve access for underserved communities, and contribute to wider system priorities.

Alongside our local work this week, we’re engaging partners across South Yorkshire to shape how this collaboration can support programmes focused on workforce, inclusion, and early intervention.

We very much welcome conversations with partners interested in working with us to strengthen mental health outcomes across South Yorkshire, so why not take ACTION and get in touch. You can call us on 0114 258 4489 or drop us a line at [email protected]
