Sheffield Mind Celebrates Volunteers Week 2026 It’s Volunteers Week (1–7 June 2026), and Sheffield Mind is proudly celebrating the people who help to make our work possible, the volunteers who give their time, energy and compassion to support mental health across the city. How volunteers support the work we do Our volunteers are involved at every level from the Board down. They support strategic development and guidance also help staff deliver projects, keep services running smoothly through essential admin support, and represent Sheffield Mind at events and community functions. Their insight, lived experience and unique perspectives ensure that everything we deliver is relevant, responsive and rooted in real life. They are our ambassadors — shaping services that are innovative, inclusive and grounded in the needs of the people we serve. Their contributions help us expand our reach and strengthen our impact. Its worth noting that volunteering isn’t just about giving. It’s a genuine exchange and we offer a range of opportunities to build confidence, develop new skills, use personal experience in meaningful ways and enhance future career prospects. Many volunteers tell us the experience has been transformative — a chance to grow, connect and rediscover purpose and to ignite an interest and a skill set they didn;t know they had!. Throughout Volunteers Week, Sheffield Mind will be using our social media platforms to celebrate the value that our volunteers bring to the work we do. Their feedback and their testimony highlight not only the difference they make to others but the profound impact volunteering has on their own lives.
